Exhibitor's Guide
Welcome to the School District 67 (Okanagan Skaha) Science Fair. The Fair is held every year in School District 67. This year it will be held at Summerland Secondary School.
We hope you enjoy your time at the Fair. The following guidelines are provided to help you and the Science Fair Committee make this the best Fair ever.
Steps you should take:
1) Download Guidelines Booklet - This booklet contains lots of important information on getting started, types of projects, backdrops and safety. It is in PDF format and will require Adobe Acrobat Reader.

DEADLINES
It is your responsibility to keep your display area neat and tidy at all times. This may even include picking up litter left by visitors. DO NOT leave your display unattended. If you are in pairs, one person must remain with the display at all times. If you are alone, make arrangements with the person next to you to keep an eye on your display when you have to leave for awhile.
SCIENCE FAIR HOURS
March 7 3:00 - 4:30 pm - Set Up 5:00 - 6:30 pm - Judging - Only judges allowed in display area 6:30 - 8:00 pm - Open to the public and Science activities ~7:30 pm - Awards Ceremony following awards ceremony - Breakdown and clean-up (Arrange for parents to pick you up)
RIBBONS AND DISPLAY CARDS
Wear your colored participant ribbon at all times. It is your entry ticket to the Science Fair room and other contests/rewards. Have the display card visible on your project at all times.
MEETING THE PUBLIC
During the afternoon, many people will visit the Science Fair. They will be of all ages and their scientific knowledge will vary from great to very little. Greet all visitors in a friendly, courteous manner. Be patient and answer questions about your display with sincerity and enthusiasm. (But don't give lengthy explanations as visitors have many exhibits to look at.)
JUDGING AND AWARDS
Check the timetable to see when the judges will be visiting the displays and when awards are to be made. Your exhibit will be examined by several judges (for art work, science work and special prizes) after which you will need to stay with your project for public viewing and the awards ceremony.
Winners may have the opportunity to go on to the Regional Fair. Application requirements and information will be given to the winners.
FOOD
You are advised to bring something to eat for dinner - the event will not be finished until after 8:00pm.
VALUABLES
The best place for valuable apparatus and materials is at home when you are not at the Fair. Security is provided but there are over 100 projects to watch.

SPARE TIME
There might be times when "business" at the fair is slower. Use these times to:

DEADLINES
- All entry forms should be submitted by February 15. 2017. All entry is done online (Click here for the link).
- Students will be responsible for setting up their projects between 3:00 and 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, and removing them that same evening (activities will be completed by about 8:00pm)
