WHO Students from grades 6 to 12 from SD67 and SD53 schools and area private schools
SCHOOL VISITS The Science Fair is one day this year, so school visits will not be possible.
SPONSORS
Penticton Kiwanis Club is the major sponsor of the science fair, contributing money for prizes, awards, resources for schools, and supervision time at the event. Other sponsors provide special cash prizes as well.
School District No. 67 provides the facility and labor charges for movement of equipment and other expenses as well as substitute teachers for supervision of the event and our entry fees for involvement in the Okanagan Regional Science Fair and the Canada Wide Science Fair.

SCIENCE FAIR PROJECTS
All work must be done by the student. Parent/adult assistance should be encouraged. There are six divisions - Life, Physical, Computer, Environmental, Engineering and Biotechnology Sciences. For judging there are three types of projects - Experiment, Study and Innovation.
Please encourage students to work as individuals, but exhibitors may work as a team of no more than two. Pairs of exhibitors, if they are in different grades, must enter the project at the higher grade level represented.

DISPLAY OF PROJECTS
The projects must be displayed in free-standing fashion. Cardboard is the most appropriate material, but those students who plan to go on to the Regional and Canada Wide Science Fair, should consider something sturdier (e.g. plywood). The Exhibitor's Guide Page contains a link to download the Guideline Booklet.
Students requiring electricity must supply their own extension cords.
Students are responsible for displaying their project (and being in attendance at the fair) on Thursday evening (for judging).

- Students will be responsible for setting up their projects between 3:00 and 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, and taking them down that same evening after all activities are complete
JUDGING
- Copies of the judging criteria are included.
- Shona Becker is the judging coordinator.
- They welcome names for potential Science Fair judges.
- Judging takes place from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Parents MUST leave the display area during judging
- The awards presentation will be as close to 7:30 p.m. as possible. (NOTE: Delays are possible depending on the number of entrants and judges)
- There will be a science activity for participants between the end of judging and the awards. This will be run by Rachel Stubbert.
- Winners and parents qualifying for Regionals will meet immediately after the awards for approximately 20 minutes.
